Do you have an idea for a local poetry program or project and need some resources to help enact it? Woodrow Hall Jumpstart Awards, an initiative of the Poetry Jumps Off the Shelf program based in Madison, aims to enrich community life. These awards will be offered to Wisconsin residents who are actively contributing to our state’s literary landscape, and who have a new idea for a project/program involving poetry. Examples of past projects that received funding include poetry placards on trolley cars; haiku on theatre marquees; ekphrastic collaborations with art museums for public events; poems featured on hiking trails, and on sandwich boards at farmers’ markets.

Up to four awards will be given for $550.00 each. Proof of match not necessary. No entry fee, just apply!

The program or project must be implemented in 2024
