Victoria Lynn Smith writes fiction and nonfiction. Her story "Keep the Cake? Keep the Cake?" was a finalist in the 2024 Wisconsin People & Ideas Fiction Contest. Her stories "Newlyweds Standing in Front of a Lilac Bush" and "New Boy" won 1st and 3rd place respectively in the 2023 Hal Prize Contest for fiction. She writes for Northern Wilds, an outdoor magazine serving communities along the North Shore of Minnesota. She is a member of the editorial staff for Pink Panther Magazine. She has been published by Brevity Blog, Wisconsin Public Radio, Hive Literary Journal, Persimmon Tree, Jenny, 45th Parallel, Mason Street Review, 8142 Review, and Rathalla Review, among others. Her first collection of short stories will be published in February 2027 by Cornerstone Press at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
